Bethpage, N.Y.–London Jewelers and David Yurman, together with The Lustgarten Foundation, have announced the creation of a David Yurman signature pendant in support of the fight against pancreatic cancer. engagement rings settings
The design, an amethyst pendant with signature David Yurman cable detail, hangs from a 16-inch box chain and will be unveiled today at a private reception at London Jewelers’ Americana Manhasset store. The pendant’s creator, David Yurman himself, will make a special appearance at the event. Best Replica Watches For Sale
Crafted in silver, the pendant retails for $295, and an 18-karat gold version, retailing at $1,700, will also be available, with 100 percent of all profits to support The Lustgarten Foundation, a non-profit that works to advance scientific and clinical research related to the diagnosis, treatment, cure and prevention of pancreatic cancer. The disease has an overall survival rate of just 5 percent, and unless detected in its early stages, there is no cure, the foundation says. It is the fourth-leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States.
Supporting the fight against pancreatic cancer is a cause close to both London Jewelers and David Yurman, who have each suffered personal losses to the disease. ghd straighteners
“Having lost a beloved friend and valued member of the London Jewelers team, Michael Spevak [general manager, who passed away in 2008], we understand all too well the devastating impact of pancreatic cancer,” London Jewelers Chief Executive Officer Mark Udell said in a media release. “We are proud to team up with The Lustgarten Foundation in the fight against this disease, knowing that 100 percent of all donations to the Foundation go directly to pancreatic cancer research.”
London Jewelers and the Udell family think so highly of the work The Lustgarten Foundation does, the retailer said, that they reached out to their friend David Yurman to exclusively design the piece for them.
David Yurman added that as someone who has suffered a loss to pancreatic cancer, he, too, applauds The Lustgarten Foundation’s commitment to advancing understanding of the disease.
“I am proud to lend my name and design to this worthy cause,” he said.
The signature pendant can be ordered starting today by calling London Jewelers at (877) 601-9924, and will be available at all London Jewelers’ locations this fall. In addition, orders will be taken at The Lustgarten Foundation’s 10th annual Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk on Sunday, July 25 in Garden City, N.Y.
